Founder Bio: Kimberly Cozza

I am a self-funded searcher seeking small business ownership. After a 25-year professional career advancing within large multinational corporations, my focus shifted shortly after losing my mother to terminal cancer.  This tragic life event spurred a shift in mindset and priorities, which eventually led to a deliberate career transition to entrepreneurship.

I’ve been a natural leader and “hustler” from a young age. I held part-time jobs since the age of 14, while balancing a multitude of sports and clubs, while also earning top honors during primary school through college.  My parents, both employed full-time during my childhood, instilled the importance of hard work and the value of a dollar.  After graduating with dual majors in business*, my professional career focusing on commercial real estate finance began.  Those early years as an Investment Analyst required 60-plus hour workweeks and built a deep understanding of analytics, diligence, risk-management, and transaction experience.  As my career advanced and my roles elevated, my positions focused more on leadership, strategy, people management, and operational efficiencies.  Cultivating all these skills across more than two decades translate well to the imperative skillset needed for small business ownership: relationship management, evaluating financials, capital needs, risk, and transactions while mitigating any gaps.

What Sets Me Apart?

My sole focus upon acquisition is owning and operating your business with resilience, persistence, and a commitment to ongoing learning.  Unlike selling to private equity or a larger competitor where motives are strictly financial & the business is rolled-up to a portfolio, I am strictly dedicated to your enterprise. I recently served in executive management of a top-producing division of a publicly traded commercial real estate and advisory firm valued over $2.5 billion.  But I have also managed small-scale teams, focused on improving speed and efficiency; in one example taking an under-performing platform and growing their business tenfold. I bring a unique background to the acquisition process as well as small business ownership in that I started my career at a smaller-cap firm focused on investment banking and valuation advisory, worked on both the production and credit sides at a Government Sponsored Entity (GSE) before, during, and after the Great Financial Crisis, and have leadership and operating experience at both public and private global CRE advisory firms. Since resigning from “Corporate America,” I’ve consulted across a variety of sectors, including an assignment for a global creative ad agency’s repositioning of a recognized international liquor brand. Further, I have made multiple commercial real estate investments outside of my corporate career in which I still hold an equity position. I believe this diverse experience demonstrates my adaptability and transferrable skills across a a variety of industries.

Given the tenure of my professional career and the positions I’ve held within a lucrative industry, I’m blessed to have built strong relationships across a large network of high-net-worth individuals.  These former colleagues, clients, and friends make up a successful network of individuals with operational expertise interested in investing in me and your business, and serving as advisors in my entrepreneurship journey.
